DBS check

Interview
If you are shortlisted, we will ask you to attend an online interview via Microsoft Teams. The interview process allows us to assess your suitability to train to teach. We will assess you against the five core areas of the Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework (DfE, 2024):
- Behaviour management
- Pedagogy
- Curriculum
- Assessment
- Professional behaviours
The interview is your chance to demonstrate your experience, skills and strengths. To prepare, you should research the topic of education and draw on your own experiences. We will ask you questions to identify:
- Your commitment to teaching
- Any prior classroom experience or similar you may have had
- Your understanding of the professional requirements around teaching
- Personal qualities that will be required to be an effective classroom practitioner
If you pass the interview and we offer you a place, we recommend spending some time in a school within your chosen age phase. The Get Into Teaching School Experience Programme offers opportunities across the country to book a day's worth of experience.
