Our mission
The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at Kingston University merges the expertise of two distinguished schools: Kingston Business School and the School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences. Together, they create an academic environment where critical thinking, problem-solving and an international outlook thrive.
Our mission is to address society’s biggest questions, challenging students to think beyond traditional boundaries. Unique resources such as the Bloomberg trading room simulate real-world financial environments, while the Kingston Business Innovation Centre serves as a dynamic hub for entrepreneurial ventures. From award-winning Town House facilities to psychology labs equipped with EEG, eye-tracking and driving simulators, this campus provides a vibrant environment for social sciences. FBSS Academic Skills Centre
The FBSS Academic Skills Centre provides dedicated support to all students in the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, focusing on structuring and refining traditional academic writing. The centre promotes critical thinking, presentation skills, and organisational abilities. Its team comprises carefully selected and trained postgraduate and academic tutors.

The FBSS ASC is available for drop-in support on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (noon to 2pm). In room EM3006, Edward Muybridge building (third floor), Penrhyn Road campus. We are also available from noon to 2pm on Tuesdays at the Nightingale Centre, Kingston Hill campus (Pod 2).
We have online support available via CANVAS; this page will allow you to submit drafts of your work for review by our team. NB: submissions to Canvas can only be made during the above opening dates.
We often experience a high volume of messages. Please bear with us while we review your work and please allow as much time as possible when you send your work to us.
The FBSS ASC will also be available for resit and dissertation support during the summer (dates TBC).
