About
I have worked in a range of primary schools in Surrey, including 7 years as a Headteacher. This experience informs my practice and my teaching on the Primary team. I teach across the BA and PGCE programmes on curriculum, science and history. I am passionate about the next generation of teachers and want to support them in their chosen profession. I am a personal tutor on the PG programme and enjoy working alongside the students as they navigate the ups and downs of the course.
My recent Masters research is around Early Career Retention and what is the narrative of those who stay in teaching, as opposed to leave. I have moved into my EdD (Doctor of Education) course and I have an interest in role model identification and its potential impact on Early Career Teachers (ECTs). I have published four books, with two different publishers, around time and task management, resilience and decision making in teaching. The fourth was a children's book entitled The Amazing A-Z of Resilience.
