This course requires a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points
For BSc (Hons)
The typical requirement for this course is 112-128 UCAS points, preferably with some health and science subjects studied. You could achieve this with:
- A-levels: BBC
- BTEC Extended Diploma: Distinction Merit Merit
- Access to HE course: 112 UCAS points normally achieved with 21 Distinctions and 18 Merits
You’ll also need GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and mathematics. We accept equivalent qualifications, such as Functional/Key skills Level 2 in numeracy and literacy.
For BSc (Hons) with Foundation Year

We encourage all candidates to gain some practical work experience in a care setting before starting the course.
Admission is subject to occupational health screening and an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, including checks against the Adult and Child Workforce Barring Lists.
If your initial application is successful, we’ll invite you to an online interview. This will include a series of short value-based questions, tasks or scenarios.
English language requirement for this course: an Academic IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no element below 5.5.
Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements could be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course. For more details, check out our English Language Programmes page.
Applicants from a recognised majority English speaking country (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
