About
I am a senior lecturer in the simulated learning and clinical skills team. I co-lead Nursing Practice (Part 2), but teach pre-registration student nurses across all years. I also co-lead the Return to Practice course and am involved in the teaching of other CPD courses, and the RNDAs. I also teach on the acutely unwell adult module.
Previously, I was a senior sister in ED for seven years and worked extensively, both in the UK and Australia. I developed and led Emergency Department Assistant training in a London trauma centre and also developed and ran a successful Paediatric First Aid and Basic Life Support programme for schools, parents and carers.
I am a teaching fellow (FHEA) and have written two book chapters. I am also a freelance writer/editor for clinicalskills.net.
I have a passion for emergency care, teaching and patient safety. My clinical interests include inter and intra-professional teaching and learning, recognition and management of the deteriorating patient and simulation.
