About
I am a Senior Lecturer in Quantity Surveying in the Department of Civil Engineering, Surveying and Construction Management. I hold a PhD in Lean Construction Management from Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK having obtained an MSc in Construction Project Management from University of Salford, Manchester UK. I completed my BSc Quantity Surveying in Nigeria where I also worked for several years within the construction industry, taught as a Lecturer within the higher education sector. Prior to my current role, I worked with NTU for over 4 years as part-time lecturer teaching quantity surveying and construction management courses.
I am Chartered with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and a Fellow with the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and I teach various Built Environment related modules in Building/Quantity Surveying and Construction Management discipline at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. Since I Joined Kingston University in 2021, I have undertaken key roles including being the interim Course Director for MSc Building and Quantity Surveying and currently the Course Director BSc (Hons) Building and Quantity Surveying.
My research interest are in the areas of Lean Construction, Sustainable Project Delivery Systems, BIM and Cost Management, Procurement, Commercial and Contract Management, Emerging and Contemporary Issues in QS Practice. I supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research in these areas. I am currently researching the latest trends in Lean Construction and the concept of collaborative costing in practice, thus, open for PhD supervision and would encourage students to get in touch if interested in working with me. My key objective is to contribute towards promoting and embedding 'research-informed' teaching at Kingston University, developing our students professional, and technical skills to prepare them for a range of exciting, challenging and fulfilling career in Built Environment.
