Professor Sankar Sivarajah

About

Sankar Sivarajah is the Head of Kingston Business School and a Professor of Technology Management and Circular Economy at Kingston University London. He joined Kingston University in September 2024, following his tenure as the Dean of the School of Management at the University of Bradford, having joined the institution in 2017. His academic career started in 2014 as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Brunel University London.

During his time as Dean at Bradford School of Management, he successfully developed and executed a progressive five-year strategy, focusing on rebuilding the School's identity and achieving inclusive and sustainable growth. The School experienced a strategic transformation, resulting in increased student income, improved research performance, and the development of strong academic and business partnerships. Notably, the School's Distance Learning MBA has been ranked number one in the world for value for money and ESG and net zero teaching by the Financial Times (FT), retained its triple crown accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS) and won the UK Times Higher Education (THE) Business School of the Year award in 2021.

His teaching and research interests are interdisciplinary, with a focus on how businesses and organisations can leverage emerging digital technologies to benefit society. He is the Deputy Editor of the Journal of Enterprise Information Management and has published over 90 scientific articles in leading peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He has also successfully led and co-led research, innovation, and consultancy projects valued at over £3 million, covering themes such as 6G technology impact evaluation, AI innovation strategy development, and Smart Cities, funded by prestigious bodies and commercial organisations.

He is an active peer reviewer for EFMD EQUIS and AACSB School-level accreditations, an elected governing Council Member and Treasurer of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) in the UK, and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
