About
I am a social scientist with over two decades of health service research. My main research interests are older people, carers, dementia and stroke. I am also particularly interested in ethnic and cultural diversity. I tend to use qualitative and mixed methods, although I started as a quantitative researcher. I have expertise in systematic reviewing and have published numerous integrative and qualitative reviews. I work with local third-sector carers organisations focusing on older (70+ years) carers.
I have four PhD students and also supervise MSc students. I am a member of the Commissioning Panel for the Department of Health Policy Research Programme and review for many journals and grant-awarding bodies.
