Professor Jian Wang

About

I am Professor of Aircraft Technology in the Department of Aerospace and Aircraft Engineering. After working in industry in China for nearly 10 years, I came to UK, completed my PhD in 1998 at Cardiff University; worked as a research associate at Cardiff University, then Cambridge University. I was a lecturer at Queen's University Belfast before joining Kingston University In September 2009.

My main research areas include renewable energy, vibro-acoustic and noise control, flow transition and drag reduction, and aircraft anti-icing; published more than 100 peer reviewed papers, secured research funding from EPSRC, TSB, EU and Industry.

I was awarded the Kenneth Harris James Prize by the Aerospace Division of IMechE; the George Stephenson Prize by the IMechE in 2010.

I am an Associate Fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA); Member of the Editorial Board for three international journals; Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
