I am an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, which is part of the School of Engineering and Environment. After my graduation from Aston University in Birmingham with a first class honours degree in Production Technology, I furthered my study there and obtained a PhD degree. The project was sponsored by a company specialised in manufacturing design and CAD/CAM based in Aston Science park. My PhD title was Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and particularly specialised in data management in manufacturing. I have since broadened my research interest into other management aspects, including Project & Risk Management, Operations Management, Resources simulation, Just-In-Time production, Smart Manufacturing, Performance measurement and Productivity Benchmarking.
In addition to my academic qualifications, am also an UK registered Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
In addition to my research and teaching duties, I am also currently assuming three departmental roles as: 1) postgraduate coordinator, 2) Accreditation & Quality Tutor, and 3) liaison officer to a franchised MSc course delivered by the University of West Attica in Greece, who has a high esteem in higher education delivery in Europe.
