Programme

We look forward to welcoming you to Kingston University!

There is plenty for you to see and explore at the undergraduate Open Day. On this page, you will find information to help you plan your day. We recommend you allow three to four hours to experience everything on offer.

  • When: 19 October 2024, 10am–12.30pm (12.30pm2pm: optional tours and talks at Kingston Hill campus)
  • Where: Main reception, Roehampton Vale campus
  • Registration: Doors open from 9.30am. You can register throughout the day, providing it is in advance of your subject talk.
  • Top tip: We recommend you plan your day around your subject sessions. Take a look at the programme below to check the timetable and see what other activities you can do on the day.

*Please note that due to ongoing roadworks taking place in the area we anticipate there might be delays to your journey. We encourage you to consult the Transport for London website or your maps/sat nav app to plan your journey and take into account any expected delays.*

Further information

If you have time, we would love to invite you to share a complimentary lunch with academics at our Roehampton Vale campus from 12.30pm. You will be able to chat informally and learn more about your course.

If you can't see your subject of interest in the list below, your course may be taught on a different campus.

Student Services Exhibition and campus tours

The Student Services Exhibition is where you can pick up information about the University's main student services. This will include accommodation, admissions, careers and employability, disability and mental health, international, student funding and more.

You'll have the chance to speak to experienced staff at these stands and find out more about the University. It's a good idea to plan ahead and perhaps write down your questions in advance so you don't forget something important on the day.

Campus tours

A tour will be provided as part of your subject talk. The guided tour will take you around campus so you can explore the facilities at Roehampton Vale.

Plan your journey to Roehampton Vale campus

Friars Avenue, London SW15 3DW

Roehampton Vale campus is located just three miles from Kingston town centre, with easy access by public transport.

Kingston University is within the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). For more information, please see the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames website.

Bus

The 85 and K3 buses stop outside the campus. For further information, visit the Transport for London website.

London buses do not accept cash, but you can pay using an Oyster travelcard or with a contactless credit card. More information on fares and payments can be found on the TfL buses website.

We also run a free intersite bus service for students, staff and visitors. The KU1 connects this campus with Kingston and Surbiton mainline train stations and Kingston town centre.

Train

Trains run regularly from London Waterloo to Kingston station (midweek four trains per hour, journey times 28–33 minutes). Kingston station is in Travelcard Zone 6. For further information and timetables, visit the National Rail Enquiries website.

From Kingston station

  • Take the train to Kingston
  • Leave the railway station via the main exit
  • Cross the lights to the left onto Cromwell Road
  • Take the 85 or K3 bus
  • Get off at the 'Roehampton Vale Asda' stop
  • Cross the road (Stag Lane)
  • The Roehampton Vale campus is immediately opposite, down Friars Avenue

Car

On-site parking facilities are very limited and will only be open until 2pm at the Roehampton Vale campus.

We strongly recommend Open Day visitors use the excellent public transport links instead of driving.

Free car parking is available on all sites for blue badge holders.

All car park users agree to the University car parking terms and conditions.

Cycle

There is a network of cycle routes adjacent to most university sites.

Plane

Heathrow and Gatwick airports international airports are the closest to Kingston. Coaches, buses and trains link the airports with the town.

Free campus shuttle bus

A free University shuttle bus will run throughout the Open Day every 20 minutes. Look out for our friendly student ambassadors in the brightly-coloured tops who can help direct you.

The shuttle buses call at the following campuses and stops:

  • Roehampton Vale campus – Bus stop, just outside the campus by the main road (A3). The bus returns to Kingston Hill, before continuing its circuit back into Kingston.
  • Penrhyn Road campus – Closest bus stop to Knights Park campus. Bus stop outside the campus.
  • Kingston town centre, on route to Penrhyn Road – Fairfield bus station (KT2 2PG). Stop B2 (near Kingston train station)
  • Kingston town centre, on route to Kingston Hill – Cromwell Road bus station (KT2 6RD). Stop A2 (around the corner from Kingston train station)
