About
I am a Professor of Computer Vision within the School of Computer Science and Mathematics.
My research interests include the development of computer vision techniques applied to medical images.
Over the last ten years, our team has developed algorithms to detect vessel morphology and pathologies on retinal fundus images. Previous work includes developing ophthalmic analysis software, which has resulted in US FDA approval. Current projects are focused on applying deep learning to ophthalmic and oral lesion images.
I am a member of the UK Biobank Eyes and Vision Consortium and a Fellow of the Institute of Physics.
