About
I am a senior lecturer and module leader for the Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Practice Foundation Degree and BA Top-up.
I have had an avid interest in education since teaching English as a Foreign Language in my teens and early twenties. I was an early years practitioner for seven years before gaining a teaching job at Kingston College in 2015. In 2022 I joined Kingston University. As well as having lived experience of neorodivergence, I have worked with students with a variety of learning disabilities over the last nine years.
This year I have been involved in a pilot project funded by the Network of Equality Champions. Our aim is to work towards co-production of an audit tool which can be used to make the learning and leisure environments at Kingston Hill more neuroinclusive. I have guest lectured across different University departments about neurodiversity in order to spread awareness, which is a strand of our project.
My other area of interest is how schools effectively utilise Teaching Assistants to support children with additional needs.
