About
I am a London based fashion designer and have been teaching at Kingston BA Fashion for 10 years as a Senior Lecturer. I am currently the course leader and the year/module leader on Level 6. My teaching career began at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in 2007 as a visiting lecturer during my tenure as Head of Design for Cacharel, Paris. There, I worked with final year students on their final collections enabling a Menswear Graduate of the Year award at Graduate Fashion Week in 2009. From there, Professor Louise Wilson OBE invited me to teach as a visiting practitioner on the MA Fashion Design course at Central St. Martin's. After 2 years I spent a further year teaching at Winchester School of Art before taking up my post at Kingston in 2010. In 2015, Kingston also went on to win the Menswear Graduate of the Year award at Graduate Fashion Week and has subsequently gone on to win industry acknowledgement and many further awards at the highest level.

Parallel to teaching I have worked extensively as an industry designer heading teams at All Saints, London and Cacharel, Paris.
My most recent professional development is an ongoing collaboration with textile innovators, Alison Hume and Matthew Tennant.
I was invited by the designers to work with their hand-processed, printed fabrics.
This alliance evolved into the design and 3D development of clothing prototypes, using dramatic and radical textiles. The textile design, texture, colour and fabrication is accentuated by engineering the cut and fashion of a garment to maximum surface effect.
These experimental pieces are sold privately to an international client list including leading fashion houses in New York, London and Italy. The team is frequently consulted for 2 and 3D design solutions across a wide range of project ideas and exhibits in Paris bi-annually.
A further consequence of the collaboration, Alison & Matthew are now visiting lecturers teaching print at Kingston Fashion.
