About
I am an associate professor in the Accounting, Finance and Informatics department of Kingston Business School. I joined Kingston Business School in 1997 having studied an accounting degree at College of Cardiff, University of Wales and completing my PhD at the University of the West of England. During my time at Kingston Business School, I have played a major role in the management of a number of degree programmes, leading the Business Management degree before leading the Accounting & Finance and also the Business with Accounting degrees. Currently I am the course director for the new Business and Accounting degree.
I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academcy and also a Certified Management & Business Educator.
Outside of the University, I have been a governor at the local infant school and, for over 10 years, have helped the local church with their Gift Aid tax relief.

I have been teaching at Kingston Business School since 1997 with a main focus on Financial Accounting and Reporting, although I also teach Management Accounting. During my time at Kingston, I have helped develop student employability skills: embedding skills in assessments e.g. presentation and assessment centre skills, as well as introducing additional MS Office certifications and accounting software practice. I have also focused on developing technology enhanced learning materials.
Courses taught
My PhD from University of the West of England, Bristol was "A Grounded Theory Study of Related Party Disclosures", focusing on the development on the UK accounting standard after several abuses of related party relationships. I also worked colleagues on projects relating to middle market companies and academic publishing in professional journals. I have a number of referred publications from 1995, including in the British Accounting Review, Credit Control and the Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance. One of my articles in the Cyprus International Journal of Management was shortlisted for a prize. I have also published chapters in books and also had articles in professional bodies' magazines publications.
