About
I received my Bachelor of Pharmacy (1997) and Master of Pharmacy (2000) degrees from India. I subsequently moved to the UK in 2002 and pursued my PhD, funded by the School of Life and Health Sciences, Aston University, Birmingham, UK, completing it in 2006. My research involved enhancing immunogenicity of plasmid DNA and subunit vaccines through surfactant based particulate systems (supervisor: Professor Yvonne Perrie). Following my PhD, I was appointed as a teaching fellow at the School of Life and Health Sciences, Aston University for a year.
In 2007, I moved to Kingston University to take up a lectureship position where I am currently a senior lecturer in pharmaceutics. I am the Course Leader, since 2009, for MSc in Pharmaceutical Science / with Management Studies / with Professional Placement courses.
I lead a research team comprising both PhD and masters students, working on a range of formulation and drug delivery research projects. I am an author of several scientific research publications (papers and abstracts) in peer-reviewed journals and have also contributed to book chapters. I regularly act as a reviewer for several international journals such as International Journal of Pharmaceutics, European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy.
I am currently a topical advisory panel member of Pharmaceutics journal (Impact Factor: 5.875).
I have acted as an examiner for several PhD and 'Masters by Research' theses to date.
I am currently an external examiner for MSc in Cosmetic Science programme at Liverpool John Moores University (from October 2021 to September 2025).
I am a SAT (self assessment team) member of Race Equality Charter (REC) group, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) group at Kingston University.
