About
I am a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences. My background is in macroeconomics and policy and I especially enjoy the quantitative part of my work.
My research interests range from economic growth, development and integration to econometrics. I focus on the empirical investigation of economic convergence, the role of institutions and international trade in transition countries. Within this context, I am currently exploring the application of unsupervised learning algorithms in connection with the theory of stochastic processes. My recent work extends to asymptotic sampling-theoretic and Bayesian approaches to causal inference and estimation. I share my activity with doctoral students and research assistants in the Department of Economics where I am the editor of the Economics Discussion Papers series. I welcome new supervisions and collaborations in these areas.
I take an active role in contributing to students' achievement. I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and I teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in applied and theoretical macroeconomics, econometrics, statistics and mathematics. I also act as Economics Admissions Tutor and I am looking forward to meeting new applicants and prospective students at economics Open Days.
