About
I am a senior lecturer in Critical and Historical Studies.
My background in Hispanic and French Culture led me to an interest in film, in which I eventually specialised. I have published in the area of gender, disability and transgression in Spanish cinema as well as Spanish regional minority cinema.
I contributed to the design of the BA and MA Film Studies degrees at Kingston. My teaching has focused on a range of critical, cultural and historical areas including: mainstream and world cinema, genre and ideology; gender and disability; race and postcolonialism; world cinema and globalisation.
My current roles include teaching on the BA Film Cultures and MA Film Studies degrees, module leadership of the CHS Dissertation, supervision of BA Fashion dissertations, and module leadership of L6 Special Topics in Art and Design History on which I teach on issues of colonialism, race and postcolonialism in art history.
