Kingston University collaborates with UK neobank Science Card to drive breakthrough in cervical cancer treatment

Kingston University has launched a new collaboration with Science Card, Britain's first e-money current account app dedicated to accelerating science and innovation, to fund research exploring the potential of fig latex to combat cervical cancer.

Kingston University's commitment to sustainability, both as an institution and through the development of student-led projects, has been recognised in the annual UK and Ireland Green Gown Awards, run in association with UKRI. The awards, organised by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC), celebrate exceptional sustainability initiatives and achievements within the higher education sector.

Kingston University celebrates three years of empowering potential through ELEVATE – the award-winning accelerator programme for Black home students

Kingston University's ELEVATE careers programme, which supports students of Black heritage to achieve their full potential, celebrated an important milestone at an event hosted at its flagship building, the Town House.

Charles Lewis Sculpture display unveiled and bursary awarded during celebration event at Kingston School of Art

Three works by renowned sculptor Charles W.E. Lewis have been donated to Kingston School of Art alongside a bursary from his daughter Madeline Lewis. Mr Lewis taught sculpture at Kingston University's school of art between the 1950s and 1970s and was the first lecturer in this field at the University. His daughter Madeline graduated with a Diploma in Fine Art in 1967 from Kingston and more recently her nephew Oscar Parkinson graduated with a FDip Art and Design in 2019.

Delaying annual eye screen for low risk diabetics could lead to treatment delays and sight loss, according to research involving Kingston University

Extending the annual screen to two years for people in England considered at low risk of diabetic eye disease could lead to critical treatment delays and sight loss, according to research led by St George's, University of London and Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and involving Kingston University researchers and academics.

Kingston University sport science expert called upon to give specialist support to elite breakdancing athletes at world championship

The World Breaking Championship took place in Leuven, Belgium last month and Dr James Brouner, course leader for Kingston University's Sport and Exercise Science BSc (Hons) and Sport Science (Coaching) BSc (Hons) programmes, was invited to provide the Norwegian team with vital support to help performance and prevent injuries. Dr Brouner talks about his weekend at the World Championship for break dancing, how he became involved with the Norwegian Breaking team and their hopes of qualifying for the Summer Olympics in Paris next year.
