Academics from Kingston University have established a new research hub to enhance collaboration and reduce gender disparity in research. The Women in STEM Hub (WISH) was founded at Kingston University by two female academics looking to enhance opportunities for women and underrepresented researchers to lead and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects. WISH also provides workshops for staff and postgraduate researchers led by external academics and professionals.

Academics at Kingston University have played a vital role in the production of an annual report by NHS England examining avoidable deaths of people with learning disabilities. The Learning Disability Mortality Review (LeDeR) seeks to investigate and learn from the avoidable deaths of people with a learning disability in England, presenting a review of data concerning 3,648 people with a learning disability who died in 2022.

A trainee primary teacher from Kingston University has been educating young pupils across the borough about the importance of Black History Month. Kiri Palmer, a second year BA Primary Teaching student, has put on several interactive workshops for pupils during visits to four primary and secondary schools in the Kingston area this year.

Kingston University has been announced as part of a pioneering doctoral training partnership, after being selected by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). The partnership will focus on the training of five cohorts of postgraduate researchers in challenge-led themes that reflect some of the most pressing social science concerns in the future, including developing healthy and thriving communities.
