 New season of Kingston University graduation ceremonies kicks off at Twickenham Stadium

Almost 5,000 graduates are gearing up to celebrate their academic achievements at the home of rugby as the first Kingston University graduation ceremonies in more than two years kick off this week at Twickenham Stadium. The undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students are the first in Kingston's history to have their graduation ceremonies at the venue, and will collect their awards in a suite next door to one of the most famous rugby pitches in the world, after the University decided it wanted to honour students who have had their graduations delayed in a special one-off celebration at Twickenham.

Kingston University has appointed criminology and policing expert Professor Stephen Tong to lead its School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences. The accomplished academic and policing specialist joins the University with 20 years of experience from Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent where he was involved in developing some of the first police degree programmes in the United Kingdom.

Kingston University engineering students set to put new racing car through its paces ahead of this year's Formula Student competition

Preparations for this year's Formula Student competition are well underway, with student engineers from Kingston University getting ready to take on teams from around the globe at Silverstone in July. Last year, the Kingston Racing team secured the institution's best-ever finish after a fantastic effort in the endurance event at the home of British motorsport. It helped take Kingston University to seventh place overall, a huge improvement on the previous finish of 69th place out of 80 in the 2019 event.

Make Film History opens up BBC Archive to 50 young filmmakers to mark BBC centenary

Young filmmakers will be given access to 150 films from BBC Archive to creatively reuse in short films in a project led by Kingston University. The Make Film History project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) in collaboration with BBC Archive, will see 50 new films created by young filmmakers aged between 16 and 30.

Kingston University's Town House carries off highest accolade in European architecture, winning prestigious EU Mies van der Rohe Award

Kingston University's Town House building has been named winner of the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award, the highest accolade in European architecture. The latest recognition for Town House places the landmark building in illustrious company as one of only three UK winners of the prestigious European Union prize. Its success also marks the first time a university building has won the award and cements its international status after it carried off the coveted RIBA Stirling Prize in 2021.
