E-learning

e-Learning is available for some of our coursesOur innovative teaching methods mean we offer a range of e-learning options. For example, if you study management alongside one of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing MSc awards, these modules consist primarily of e-learning.

Kingston School of Art runs Creative Writing MA and MFA courses with a Distance Learning option, ideal for those juggling full time jobs or family responsibilities, or who live at a distance. Small groups encourage peer interaction and give the sense of a cohort. Students take modules online on Canvas and partake in live online masterclasses; there's also the option to attend two campus days at Kingston to meet tutors and other students in person.

Canvas, our online learning tool, gives you the flexibility to study where and when you want, even if your course doesn't have any specific distance-learning modules.

Long-distance learning

Distance learning from further afield includes success stories such as:

  • the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing has joined up with KN Toosi University in Tehran, Iran to deliver a joint Automotive Engineering MSc, whereby students study introductory modules in Iran before moving to Kingston; and
  • staff from the School of Education have set up a new postgraduate programme whereby Chilean teachers undertake an intensive learning course at Kingston, followed by a distance-learning programme in Chile.
