Our courses in Clearing

Kingston School of Art comprises three schools across three campuses.

At Knights Park, where our architecture, art, design and creative industries courses are taught, the fabulous, newly refurbished, industry-standard workshops and studios are open for creative exploration. They allow opportunities for students and staff to work together and to share ideas, whether they are studying or researching.

At Penrhyn Road, where philosophy, journalism, media, publishing, creative writing, English, dance and drama are taught, the campus is a hive of activity, with social activities, student union events and guest lectures taking place alongside teaching.

Music is taught at Kingston Hill campus, where students practise, produce, record and perform music in our dedicated Coombehurst facilities.

Ideas emerge here

Kingston School of Art has long been recognised as one of the best art and design schools in teaching and research, which is shown in our subject rankings, research, performance, industry and student awards, and the leading brands and institutions that choose to work with us.

We are committed to development and offer students opportunities to explore, experiment and to take risks to find their unique signature.

We prepare our students to be the creative and cultural leaders in the industries of the future.

The Art School Experience

Through collaborative working and critical practice, students understand both teamwork and multi-disciplinary making.

We are an art school where our workshops and studios are open for creative exploration and allow opportunities for students and staff to work together and to share ideas whether they are studying or researching architecture, art, communications, design, humanities or the creative industries.

150 years of art school history and an attitude of fearless creativity sets the scene for us to lead the drive towards new ways of crafting.

Studio KT1

Studio KT1 is a new offering from Kingston School of Art and Kingston University giving the opportunity to students to work on commercial briefs with real world experience, getting paid for their work alongside their studies.

World-class facilities

The Design Museum called our studios and workshops "a world class design facility".  They provide the perfect space in which to experience practice-based learning, and explore thinking through making.

Future Skills

Knowledge to give you the edge

Embedded within every course curriculum and throughout the whole Kingston experience, Future Skills will play a role in shaping you to become a future-proof graduate, providing you with the skills most valued by employers such as problem-solving, digital competency, and adaptability.

As you progress through your degree, you'll learn to navigate, explore and apply these graduate skills, learning to demonstrate and articulate to employers how future skills give you the edge.

At Kingston University, we're not just keeping up with change, we're creating it.
