Soumya is a versatile People leader with an extensive track record in leadership and management roles across various sectors in the UK. She is Deputy Director of People at Smart Energy GB, where she plays a key role within the senior leadership team.
Soumya's career trajectory spans across diverse sectors, including the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, with expertise in areas like marketing, science, technology and professional services. Her professional journey includes significant contributions to a wide range of organisations, from high-profile start-ups to leading charities. Notably, her experience includes a tenure at The Royal Society, the UK's national academy of science.
Soumya holds multiple board positions across both non-profit and commercial organisations. She is a trustee at Anti-Slavery International, a leading international human rights charity, and a trustee for the Independent Film Trust. Additionally, she is a Co-optee on the board of Unltd, which supports social entrepreneurs in the UK, and she serves as Director at IFT Studios.
Passionate about giving back, Soumya teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Kingston University as a visiting faculty and serves as Faculty Director at the Chartered Institute of Professional Certifications, Singapore. She volunteers as HR Manager at The Listening Place, a suicide prevention charity.
Soumya is currently pursuing the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.
