My background and passion is in Emergency Nursing and over a span of 15 years I worked primarily in busy Emergency Departments in Malta initially and then moved to the UK in 2019 where I worked in Epsom Hospital and in St. George's Hospital, London. Recognising the critically unwell patient and giving them the best possible care has always been my drive to continuing education and improve my nursing skills and knowledge. As I progressed in my nursing career I developed a deep interest for knowledge sharing and clinical teaching. I strongly believe that the workplace can be a great learning environment with adequate support. I mentored a large number of students during their clinical placements and was heavily involved in teaching with the Maltese Emergency Nursing Association, University of Malta, Mater Dei Hospital Resuscitation Unit and the European Resuscitation Council. In September 2023, I joined the School of Nursing at Kingston University. I am currently module lead for Emergency Practice, Applied Anatomy and Physiology for Nursing Associates and teach on the module: Trauma Care: Initial Assessment and Management. As I transition into my new academic role, I am hoping to use my Emergency Nursing expertise and my enthusiasm for teaching to give a great learning experience to our students at Kingston University.
