Ms Justine Langford

About

I am a senior lecturer in architecture teaching predominantly at BA level. I focus on integrating professional issues and processes into studio projects through a course that aims to make the practice of architecture relevant and tangible.

In architectural practice, I have been involved in projects from historic buildings to new buildings and masterplanning projects, concerned with the sensitive reinterpretation of historic environments, the civic nature of buildings and their contribution to the quality of urban environments.

My research and interests include community-based projects, promoting the reinterpretation of existing built environments as social, equitable and sustainable places and the development of energy-efficient retrofit approaches in buildings of architectural merit.

I am an ARB registered architect, a certified Passivhaus Designer, an External Examiner in architecture and I have taught and critiqued and at other schools of architecture in the UK.
