Mrs Sally Aucken

About

I am a senior lecturer in simulated learning and clinical skills.  I co-lead Nursing Simulated Practice Learning part 2, and teach pre-registration student nurses across all years and fields. I am involved in teaching return to practice students, RNDAs and on CPD courses. I am also part of the health care elective team.

My background is in Neuroscience nursing and after experience in different areas I discovered a passion for Neurocritical care. I was a Practice Educator in Neurocritical care for 11 years with a  background of neuroscience nursing and critical care nursing. Along with the other adult Critical care Practice Educators I ran the foundation of critical care nursing courses and taught on CPD critical care courses. This role enabled me to develop my interest in teaching, learning and simulation pedagogy and to transition into nurse education.

I have particular interests in inter and intra professional education and currently working on encouraging student engagement to ensure our future nurses are digitally enabled in a rapidly developing and evolving healthcare system.
