About

I am a qualified Advanced Social worker (registered with Social Work England) and a Practice Educator. I am currently a Senior Lecturer and Sub-Regional Assessor in the department of Social Work and Social Care. I am a module leader for the PG Diploma Step Up To Social Work programme and Practice Education Stage 1 programme. As a Sub Regional Assessor (SRA) I support apprentices on the BA (hons) Social Work integrated Apprenticeship degree programme.

I have experience working with children and families for over ten years in the UK. Prior to that I practiced social work in a school and in non- government Organisations (NGOs) in Jamaica.  My research interest is exploring and promoting the effectiveness of social work interventions in groups and communities to address systemic barriers in society. Also, to equip social work students to be able to work in communities and in community based projects.
