Mr Steve Houchin

About

I am a lecturer and Course Leader for the FdSc and MSc Historic Building Conservation programmes.  Following a career in the construction industry I joined Kingston University in 2003, teaching on a number of built environment courses, including Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management and Civil Engineering.  In 2005 I was instrumental in starting the country's only undergraduate course in Historic Building Conservation, as well as establishing the Masters course in the same subject in 2009.  These two courses continue today with the result that Kingston offers the most comprehensive suite of building conservation courses anywhere in the country.

My research area of interest is in the practice of building conservation
