Mr Stephen Brown

About

Prior to taking a 0.6 position at Kingston School of Art, I was a visiting lecturer, guest lecturer and hourly paid lecturer for over twenty years at a number of higher education institutes. Besides the BA and MA Illustration Animation courses and BA Graphic Design course at Kingston, I have taught at University of the West of England, London College of Communication, Central Saint Martins, University of the Creative Arts and American Intercontinental University.

I have run workshops and one-off projects for University of Westminster, Camberwell College of Art, North Cornwall Arts, Zita International film festival (Stockholm), The Lakes International Comics festival and AniMaidstone festival.

I supervise extra-curricular and paid "live" projects for Kingston animation students and early career alumni (most notably John Lewis with FareShare and Home-Start, Christmas 2020).

Outside of higher education, I have had a diverse career in film and television as an animation director, animator, character designer, creature concept designer, puppet designer/performer, sculptor, storyboard artist, story editor and screenwriter.
