I joined Kingston University in January 2024 as a Senior Lecturer in Education and I work across the Primary PGCE and BA (Hons) Primary Education routes leading to Qualified Teacher Status. I am an experienced primary school teacher, mentor and teacher trainer.
As a primary school teacher, my experience included leading mathematics across a federation of schools in south London, as well as being responsible for overseeing the mentoring of trainee teachers. More recently, I spent five years working for the largest school-based teacher training provider in the country. Here my responsibilities included setting up and leading a specialism route for primary mathematics, as well as liaising with Kingston University to deliver and assess their academic PGCE modules to a cohort of up to 200 trainee teachers each year. I am also the primary mathematics subject consultant for the National Association for School-based Teacher Trainers, providing an additional layer of support to other trainees and ITT providers.
I hold a master's degree in Educational Assessment from the Institute of Education, UCL. My academic interests centre primarily on assessment and what schools, ITE providers and universities can do to ensure that systems of assessment are as fair as possible for all students.
