About

I am a qualified chartered surveyor, my original training was with Prudential Portfolio Managers, undertaking fund management and related professional work. I then moved into private practice, and gradually into academia whilst retaining consultancy and commercial roles, which continue. I hold a first class honours degree in Urban Estate Surveying and a masters in Advanced Commercial Property Law with commendation (Northumbria). I hold a PGCHE from the University of Westminster where I taught as a senior lecturer. I have also provided input to professionally accredited property courses at De Montfort University Leicester, and Nottingham Trent University.

I have acted on a wide range of commercial property matters and have acted as an expert witness and Independent Expert in connection with rent reviews and lease renewals. I am a member of Arbrix and Index.

In addition to my Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education I hold additional credits in supervising research students.

I have written a number of papers, books, and book chapters on topics including Business Improvement Districts, PFI, Planning, Valuation and property management.

I have come to Kingston University as a part time senior lecturer, with the aim of trying to help students understand and appreciate the world of real estate, how it works and the opportunities it presents.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
