I began my journey as a Midwife after qualifying from Kingston University in 2012. After qualifying I worked as a Midwife in both the community and hospital settings. I have always had a passion for normality, continuity of care and empowerment of women. It has been an honour to participate in the journeys of the women and their families I have had the pleasure of caring for. I have been a member of the Faculty since 2014, initially as a seconded honorary lecturer, whilst working clinically as a midwife. During this time I also held the post of interim Clinical Practice Facilitator at the trust where I worked clinically. Both of these roles sparked my interest in teaching and as a result in 2015 I obtained my Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and became a fellow of the Higher Education Authority. My current role is as a Senior Lecturer and I am also the Examinations and Assessments Tutor for the Faculty.
