Dr Stefan Tino Kulnik

About

I am a Principal Investigator at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Digital Health and Prevention in Salzburg, Austria, and a guest lecturer at FH Campus Wien - University of Applied Sciences, Vienna, Austria. Having worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education from 2016 to 2021, I am pleased to continue my affiliation as Honorary Research Fellow with the Faculty's Emergency, Cardiovascular, and Critical Care Research (ECCCR) group led by Professor Tom Quinn.

I qualified as a physiotherapist in Vienna, Austria, and have worked clinically in Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom, in cardio-respiratory care, neurology, geriatrics and rehabilitation. I am a registered member of the UK Health and Care Professions Council, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in the UK, and Physio Austria. Pursuing my interest in research, I completed a masters in clinical practice at St George's, University of London, and a PhD in clinical neuroscience at King's College London.

My research interests are varied and include current physiotherapy and rehabilitation practice, sustainable behaviour change in the context of rehabilitation, the lived experience of disability, self-management for people who are living with long-term conditions, and assessment and treatment of ineffective cough. I have a particular interest in applied clinical research, mixed-methods approaches, multi-disciplinary collaboration, participatory approaches and service user involvement in research.
