I am an Associate Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and currently serve as the Head of the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Robotic Engineering at Kingston University. I hold a PhD in Fibre Optics and Optoelectronics, an MSc in Digital Communication Networks, and a BEng in Electronic and Communications Engineering. Additionally, I have completed a PGCert in Professional Academic Practice and I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Since beginning my academic career in 2005, following my tenure as an Electronics Engineer in the gaming industry, I have taught over 40 modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across the fields of Electrical, Electronic, Communications, Robotic, and Sound Engineering. My experience spans two London universities prior to joining Kingston University in January 2024. Beyond teaching, I have led the development and accreditation of academic programmes, directed courses, and managed various engineering subject areas.
I am also an experienced panel member for programme approvals, periodic reviews, and have contributed as a subject expert in validation events at multiple UK institutions. In addition, I have served as an external examiner, providing insights and expertise to Higher Education institutions.
As the Head of the Department, I oversee a team of dedicated academics focused on promoting innovation and academic excellence in the rapidly evolving fields of electrical, electronic, and robotic engineering. We are committed to cultivating a vibrant academic environment that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and the development of solutions to contemporary engineering challenges. My aim is to prepare the next generation of engineers with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and ethical values required to make significant contributions to the engineering industry.
