About

I am currently an Associate Professor in Civil Engineering at Kingston University, a post I have held since 2015, as well as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). I am a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

I graduated with a BSc in Building Technology in Malaysia and was awarded the Book Prize for best performance in 1999. I received my PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow in 2007 after obtaining a MSc in Facilities Design and Planning from the same University.

As part of my PhD, I worked as a research assistant, funded by Onyx Environmental Trust Fund, and my thesis was among the early pioneering research on rubberised concrete.

After completing my doctorate, I was employed again as a research assistant on an EPSRC-funded project, Application of Low Density Aircrete Products in 2006 here at Kingston University where I subsequently began my academic career as a Lecturer in 2007.
