I am a Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the Department of Pharmacy. My academic journey has been deeply rooted in the pursuit of innovative solutions in the field of pharmaceutics, with a particular focus on novel drug delivery systems.
I earned my PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Pécs in Hungary, completed my MSc in Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Formulations at the University of Sunderland, and my Pharm D from the Jordan University of Science and Technology. My research interests are centred around the development of novel drug delivery systems, particularly the delivery of mRNA via polymer nanoparticles and the creation of cocrystals for tuberculosis drugs. I was awarded a proof-of-concept grant to design and evaluate a novel floating drug delivery system. Furthermore, a stunning scanning electron microscopy image of my tuberculosis drug-drug cocrystals won an image contest.
Beyond my academic and research endeavours, I have a deep appreciation for wildlife and foxes, which often inspires my work. I am also a former long-distance runner, a discipline that has taught me perseverance and the importance of endurance, qualities that are invaluable in my academic career.
My journey in pharmaceutics is driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to improving drug delivery systems, with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient outcomes and advancing the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
