This course is designed for students who do not have English as a first language. It focuses on general English language and skills, with additional materials to study academic writing. It particularly suits people who want to learn English for a short period per week, meet international students and staff in an academic setting and have opportunities to practise and developing their confidence in English.
In addition to the weekly interactive sessions, there are useful preparation tasks and formative further study activities to develop your general and academic English skills. As an added benefit, being at Kingston University allows you access to the facilities and learning resources during your studies.

Before the start of the course, you will take an online placement test to put you in the correct level for your overall ability. You can study for one 10-week term or continue for two terms.
Please note: completion of this course does not provide UKVI-approved evidence of language level, and we cannot provide student visas or accommodation for entry onto this course.

For Teaching Block 2 (January – March) all KLS English classes will be delivered via interactive online sessions. We will email you with further information about how to access the classes in the days before the course starts. You must complete an online placement test before we can send you details of how to access the classes.
