Characterisation of date fruit for antioxidant properties can expand this fruit's consumption, as consumers are increasingly looking for healthy food. This experiment will help identify which cultivars have relatively higher phenolics content than other cultivars. With respect to assessing antioxidant capacity, it would be beneficial to identify which method give higher antioxidant values than other two methods used in this study. Based on the results of the study, it could be concluded that of date cultivars phenolic content and significant antioxidant activity. Moreover, relationship between phenolic contents and the antioxidant activity of the respective date cultivars could be established conclusively. This research adds expanded scientific information on antioxidant analysis of various cultivars. With regard to this study, different methods were used to measure the antioxidant capacity of dates.
I am a Phd student who combined studies with working and other commitments. I have achieved Merit in my MSc Clinical Microbiology (biomedical science) at Kingston University, London. In order to achieve this, I have always been self-motivated, committed and determined in achieving my goals. I have excellent laboratory skills. I have also demonstrated negotiating and organising skills, a strong sense of responsibility and ability to handle difficult situations with tact and sensitivity.
