Abstract

This research examines the problems of access to the art world for emerging artists and investigates the possibilities of a specially designed Web3 platform to address those issues and open up the art market to new and emerging talent.

Biography

I am the principal and founder of Ryan English & Associates, an independent personal property appraisal firm in Southern California specialising in fine art.

In 2017, I received my MA in Art Business with honours from Sotheby's Institute of Art, Los Angeles, in conjunction with the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University. I was inducted into the International Business Society Beta Gamma Sigma upon graduation, being nominated as a top business student worldwide. While attending Sotheby's, I concentrated on Modern and Contemporary Art and its markets. I lived in London to study Fine and Decorative Arts and the Old Masters and did a stint in East Asian Art in New York. I am a Member of the International Society of Appraisers and travel extensively to major international art fairs and exhibitions.
