Most public traded companies publish sustainability reports consisting of multidimensional aspects of environmental, social and economic factors. However, those reports are vastly underutilized due to perceived complexity. Incorporating an entity's economic, environmental and social performance indicators into its management and reporting processes, we argue, has become synonymous with corporate sustainability; in the process, concern for ecology has become sidelined.
The PhD research project deals with corporate sustainability reporting and, in particular, a critique of the modern disconnect between the practice of corporate sustainability reporting and trends and measurement issues to be considered.
