Nowadays, the rise of digital technologies influences our lifestyle choices by promoting new consumption, which is reflected in the new forms of virtual body adornment and other virtual artefacts. This research project is exploring the potential real value of virtual jewellery, with `Spatial-Curatorial-Turn´ as a creative methodology.
`Initial Definition of Virtual Jewellery: Virtual jewellery can be defined as "environmental immersion experience jewellery": VR-related technologies usually achieve environment rendering by combining with the narrative background. In between, the relationship between jewellery and technology can refer to several model examples: Narrative virtual environment - (Symbiosis) - Jewellery experience; Virtual environment - (Symbiosis) - Narrative jewellery.´ (SUN, 2022)
I am a contemporary jewellery artist-researcher and multidisciplinary maker, whose artist name was known as Jieyi Sun. Exploring through my professional jewellery´s study journey from the year 2008 to 2024, I keep achieving my value-seeking, personal cultivation, and interdisciplinary creativity.
My artworks are based on my experiential life, placing the self in the social-cultural context to be investigated, and thus obtain the inner-outer connection of "dialogue", meanwhile, exploring the value of art and survival, whose artworks reflected the philosophical consideration and future foresight.
