The aim of this research project is to evaluate the plant of interest for the presence of previously reported compounds and additional potential compounds which were not previously isolated and to investigate the number of components and isolated compounds reported from the plant, determined by the use of 2-dimensional DOSY-NMR. Also, to investigate purity assessment by qNMR PSYCHE methods.
I am a chemistry graduate who is passionate about contributing to the medicinal field through the realm of chemistry. This passion served as the basis of my BSc. research project titled ‘The Isolation of Antibacterial Diterpenes from Pedilanthus tithymaloides.' My sustained interest in natural product isolation and structure determination for a range of medicinal properties motivated me to pursue my Masters in the area of Pharmaceutical Science. I was introduced to NMR spectroscopy during my BSc. degree and due to my ongoing interest in this technique, I pursued my MSc. research project with NMR analysis. My experience in industry as a Research Analyst at The National Measurement Laboratory strengthened my NMR experience and further developed my technical expertise. My career vision has always included attaining my PhD and I believe my ongoing dedication to my research area will make this accomplishable.
