Research project: A conceptual framework for optimising social value across the whole life cycle of construction projects in the UK.

Abstract

There has been a significant rise in the interest of social value in the United Kingdom(UK) built environment partly in response to public sector requirements and also due to construction businesses being eager to convey the value they bring to communities (Hirigoyen, 2019).  Social performance of completed buildings is rarely assessed and managed over the lifecycle of construction projects. This research is aimed at developing a conceptual framework that underpins the review, appraisal and integration of social value across all the life cycle stages of construction projects in the UK.
