We may be able to offer flexible study options for our research degrees. Some international students prefer to stay in their home country and receive their supervision online. This can allow them to study part-time alongside work and family commitments.
If you think a distance learning research degree is right for you, please discuss it with the Faculty Research Student Coordinator and your potential supervisor. Some research projects will not be appropriate for distance learning so please have this discussion early in the application process.
You may be asked to find a local supervisor who can be added to your supervision team and confirm that you have access to the resources needed for your research.
Depending on the subject area, you may be required to come to Kingston for training or to participate in conferences or other research events.
The entry requirements, progression and assessment processes remain the same as for students who study in the UK.
