UK students who face unexpected financial difficulties while at university may be eligible to apply for additional assistance from the University's Student Support Funds which are administered by the Student Funds team in the Student Life Centre.
Payments may be used to help with course costs, travel, childcare costs or general living costs and, in some cases, can help towards payment of tuition fees provided you have paid at least 50% of the total fees due. Postgraduate students will need to have made financial provision for the majority of their tuition fees and living costs. The funds cannot be used as the main source of funding and are not available to international or EU students.
Full- and part-time students who meet the residency criteria can apply. All applications are means-tested and proof of income and expenditure are required.
The fund is discretionary so not all students who apply will receive an award.
Applications for the Student Support Funds at Kingston University are accepted from October until the beginning of July or whenever the fund is fully allocated, whichever occurs first. More information about the fund can be found on My Kingston, the student intranet, once you have enrolled.
