Our students have an unrivalled reputation for starting their own businesses. We have been consistently rated as a leading UK University for graduate start-up companies.
We encourage all students to take an enterprising approach to their studies and future careers, and guarantee access to specific training for starting and developing their businesses.
Your connection with us won't end the moment you graduate. Our graduates have successful careers all over the world – from fashion designers in New York to engineers in China.
Where you live during your postgraduate studies is an important part of your overall experience. We offer a variety of options to suit your every need and budget.
We also have a number of places in our halls of residences reserved specifically for postgraduate students.
Three of our halls of residence are undergoing a huge glow up and we think you'll love the finished results.
Whether you decide to live on campus or in private accommodation, our dedicated KU Student Homes website will help you find all the latest vacancies in local rented accommodation, from single rooms to full houses and shared accommodation.
Over 50% of our students commute to us, so rest assured you're not alone. With our well-connected campuses and tailored facilities, we're well-prepared to ensure you enjoy university life to the full.
The Union of Kingston Students is the heartbeat of the University; supporting and representing the 16,000+ students that make up the Kingston community.
Whether you want to pursue a passion or try something new, we have over 70 societies and 30 sports clubs to choose from. If you cannot find a club or society that piques your interest, we will help you start and fund one.
The Union organises a wide range of events throughout the year, from fundraisers, conferences and themed nights to trips abroad. You will kick off your student journey with Freshers' Week – two weeks full of events and activities.
All students have the opportunity to study up to 10 languages in addition to their course, completely free of charge. Languages on offer include Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Korean.
There are also plenty of opportunities to give back and support your new community through diverse volunteering opportunities at varying levels of commitment.
We are passionate about helping our students reach their full potential, which is why we aim to connect you to a range of activities that will help you develop, both inside the classroom and out, so you graduate with more than just your postgraduate qualification.
The Kingston Award has been running for almost ten years, and Miriam has been looking after the Kingston Award for around six years. In that time the response from students has been more than positive, to say the least.

“I've taken part in the University's mentoring scheme which paired me with an experienced social worker. She provided me with a huge amount of support and helped me to return to student life after many years away.”
Rebecca, Social Work
