Join our course team and your fellow offer holders on a whistle stop tour through some of modern literature's more innovative methods and means. We'll challenge you to interpret form and sound, visual techniques and automatic writing. In this brief session we'll cover movements like Surrealism and OuLiPo.

Dance BA (Hons)

Activity – Get shaking!

Join our course team and your fellow offer holders as we put on our dancing shoes and get moving! Push your furniture to the side of the room and make sure you have plenty of space to move about as we learn some new moves together in the ultimate video dance-off! After we master our new steps, current students will lead us through a fun session choreographing a brand-new routine!

We'll then participate in a series of short workshops to help put these questions into perspective and begin your journey as a competent fashion professional.

Storytelling is an important and creative method of fashion brand communication and can take many forms. Through this interactive session, you will have the opportunity to consider the role and purpose of storytelling in engaging audiences with a fashion brands' products, values and brand proposition.

We'll challenge you to think and act like a designer in this lively chat prompted by a series of films and presentations from students developing work in: Social Design, Editorial Design, Typography, Photography, and Conceptual thinking.

Activity – What's your backstory?

Join our course team, and your fellow offer holders as we dare you to think critically during this lively discussion on the process of drawing, character development and moving image techniques. You and your future classmates will answer prompts about a given character; we'll then switch your answers around and you'll be challenged to design a character based on someone else's description. See how your interpretation compares to someone else's vision!

Together we'll review the entire student experience from study to practice and give you the opportunity to ask a range of individuals with varying experience any burning questions you may have.

Activity – Fake News! Fake News! Read all about it!

Fake news, there's a lot of it about and sometimes it's hard to tell what's fake and what's not; but the truth is out there. So how do journalists sort fact from fiction? Come join us and play detective in our Journalism taster session and try your hand at spotting the signs and looking for clues that things might not be what they seem.

We'll explore a range of free tools available online, with the aim of helping you make better sounding music. This will be rounded up with a Q & A session giving you a chance to ask anything about studying music at Kingston University!

Photography BA (Hons)

Activity – Welcome to Photography at Kingston

We will share with you how the course is from the student perspective, viewing current coursework and photography, including an opportunity for Q&A with current students to ask all those questions that you need an answer - to cement your course choice! Staff are also on hand to showcase some alumni works and go into detail about the course and its structure.

Product & Furniture Design BA (Hons)

Activity – Design through making

Join our course team and your fellow offer holders as we explore some of the different maker based projects that have become the DNA of your course. We'll show you prototypes and processes we use including sand casting, ceramic slip casting and totally new manufacturing processes devised by our students!
