Kingston University is paving the way when it comes to entrepreneurial graduates, according to the latest Higher Education – Business and Community Interaction Survey. The annual survey shows that Kingston has the highest number of graduate start-up companies of any higher education institutions (HEI) in the UK for 2010/11.
With 179 start ups, Kingston University is 19 ahead of the nearest competitor and topped the table for the previous academic year. In addition, Kingston ranked first for the number of staff employed by graduate start-ups in both 2010/11 and 2009/10; and, in 2010/11, was second in terms of graduate start-up turnover.
Head of Enterprise Education, Martha Mador, said: "Kingston has been supporting entrepreneurship education for nearly nine years through various programmes, activities and competitions, all backed up by a strong research background through the Small Business Research Centre in Kingston Business School."
