Goodbye to our 2017 Summer School students

We have just said goodbye to our 2017 Summer School students. Although we are sad to say goodbye, we are happy to have helped them to create some fantastic memories that will stay with them for a very long time. We welcomed students from all over the world, including China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Spain and Malaysia.

The subjects studied by the students included; International Marketing, Finance, Strategy, Human Resources, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Science and English Language.

Our students told us that they particularly enjoyed the engaging style of teaching and having the opportunity to fully participate in their lessons. They also enjoyed meeting students from other universities in other parts of the world and hearing their perspectives on important issues.

Accommodation was in one of Kingston University's Halls of Residence and students enjoyed the independence of living away from home and making meals with their new friends in the shared kitchens.

A zone 1-6 London travelcard was provided to all students which meant that they were able to travel freely around London for the duration of their stay. Students made full use of the travelcards and they travelled all over London and the surrounding areas, visiting tourist attractions, shopping areas, museums and other iconic sites.

Upon conclusion of the course, students were presented with a certificate of completion by one of Kingston University's Pro Vice Chancellors Professor Martyn Jones and this was a fantastic occasion to take lots of photos and reflect upon the learning and achievements since arriving at the University.

Outside of their studies, the students enjoyed trips to Oxford and Bicester Village, to pick up some designer bargains, a visit to the beautiful and historic Windsor which included an audio tour of Windsor Castle, one of the homes of Queen Elizabeth II, a guided tour around the quintessentially English Wimbledon tennis, a visit to the home of King Henry VIII, Hampton Court Palace, an open top bus tour around the streets of London, with a fabulous boat trip along the Thames to finish off the day.

The course was concluded with a fabulous afternoon tea at a Riverside restaurant in Kingston-upon-Thames, where students were treated with sandwiches, scones, a variety of cakes and tea.

Another successful year of Summer Schools at Kingston University has now come to an end and we are already busy planning for 2018. If you would like to be part of the experience next summer then we would love to welcome you to Kingston University! Please contact us on summerenglish@kingston.ac.uk to register your interest.
